Synopsis

It’s summer, and in a Munich apartment building, every tenant is trying to get a grip on his or her life, even though changes are on the horizon….

Miriam, who is not yet divorced, is in a relationship with Gregor, a young evangelical pastor. But Miriam doesn’t want to commit herself too quickly, especially because her daughter Julchen is very attached to her father Jan. And hasn’t Jan actually changed quite a bit for the better lately?

Gregor, for his part, has to contend with increasing pressure from the congregation: as pastor, he is supposed to be the moral lighthouse of the congregation. The fact that he is with a married woman brings him more and more into disrepute.  He is threatened with losing his ministry if he doesn’t clear the air. Torn between private and professional concerns, he puts Miriam under such pressure that she withdraws from him completely. He does everything wrong until he realizes that he has to set priorities.
