SYNOPSIS
It is the last time they will hear Sybille’s voice, but Lars Langhoff and the two children Maike and Piet cannot suspect that. For them, it is just a normal phone call. And so twelve-year-old Maike reacts to her mother’s call with her usual adolescent defiance. Lars and six-year-old Piet are also not quite on the ball when they talk to Sybille on the phone. Later, they will have a guilty conscience, but what has happened cannot be undone. Sybille Langhoff has taken her own life. She had no longer been able to fight the desire to die, she leaves in her suicide note. Lars and the children are paralyzed. But life must go on, school, the job, the household, the very mundane things. Grief, self-reproach, but also anger at Sybille create an emotional turmoil for which no one is prepared. For Lars and the children, life will never be the same again. Because Sybille didn’t want to live it anymore. But life goes on anyway.
