Synopsis
Miriam, around thirty, couldn’t be happier. Fifty-year-old Ingmar has taken a fancy to her and left his wife, the dedicated pastor Lene, and his three almost-grown children and moved in with her. Their young love has been crowned unplanned but most welcome with sweet, lively twins. It is only through her own family happiness that Miriam begins to suspect what she has done to her adversary. But would Ingmar really have come to her if the marriage had been as happy all round as Lene had always imagined? Shortly afterwards, Miriam falls ill with life-threatening cancer, and the doctors give her only a short time. She is in despair and in this time of shock accidentally meets Lene again. Despite their continuing competitive situation, she suddenly perceives Lene as an admirable, warm-hearted woman, someone she would want as a mother substitute for her children. To do this, however, she would have to get Ingmar and Lene back together without them knowing about it, and before that Ingmar and Lene would have to confront their marital problems, long swept under the rug… An utterly absurd undertaking slowly takes shape – and time is running out….
