SYNOPSIS
Lena Fauch is asked by Detective Inspector Kuda to assist a married couple whose 20-year-old daughter was raped and murdered a few months ago in a court case. The couple is severely traumatized by the loss of their only child. The alleged perpetrator has confessed. However, the trial takes a surprising turn shortly after it begins when the defendant recants his confession and claims to have been pressured by the lead investigator during questioning. In addition, a serious formal error is discovered.
The trial is interrupted. The case is suddenly on the line. Lena senses how much the uncertainty about what actually happened and who the perpetrator is weighs not only on the parents of the dead, but also on the mother of the accused. Despite the misgivings of her mentor Bader, she once again sets up her own investigation in the hope that she can at least bring some clarity and peace to these three relatives. When the alleged perpetrator is attacked, the lines between victim and perpetrator begin to blur more and more, and the father of the murdered girl himself becomes the focus of the investigation.
