SYNOPSIS
27-year-old Franka wants to marry her longtime boyfriend Alexander. The big celebration takes place at Alex’s parents’ house and there is a lot of hustle and bustle in the house. Suppliers bring colorful flower arrangements, the buffet is “of the finest” and also otherwise no costs and efforts were spared. You want to make a big splash, after all, you only get married once in your life. Or is it not? Franka’s mother, an anti-bourgeois old-68er, doesn’t believe in love (anymore) and is appalled by her daughter’s philistinism. Alex’s parents are quite different. They are insanely proud that their son is finally getting hitched.
The first irritations arise when the hot-blooded Niko appears on the dance floor – on the one hand the supplier of the opulent buffet, on the other Franka’s one-night stand. The affair was as brief as it was intense, and Niko now does everything he can to keep Franka from getting married. Alex also gets trouble – but from a completely unexpected source. Sven, neighbor, best man and old acquaintance, comes out and confesses his love. Alex is deeply disturbed, he had not expected this. He had thought about it before, but could never admit it openly – especially not to his parents. For them, a world would collapse. But is his own wedding day the ideal time for a “coming out”? And while Franka and Alex are trying to figure out on this happy day what or who they actually want, the countdown for the wedding is on.
