SYNOPSIS

Laura Vandenberg can be truly content as she looks over her life on her birthday. She has a loving husband, two well-turned-out children, a big house and lots of friends.
But an anonymous ad changes everything. Laura’s life collapses like a house of cards. Laura’s husband is in custody, the business is bankrupt, the house is under the hammer, the savings are gone. With nothing but a few moving boxes, Laura and her children end up in a prefabricated building.
But Laura doesn’t let it get her down. She fights for her husband’s release, ekes out a living as a cab driver and cook, and resists the breakup of the family. In the process, Laura is always in danger of breaking down, especially when she finds out that her husband has not only cheated the banks…
