synopsis
René Klettner is recovered half dead from the Dreisam. When he wakes up from his coma, he accuses Daniel Danzeisen of all people. Motive: revenge. Klettner’s wife Susanne had seriously injured Daniel during a mission years ago.
As a result, Daniel had to resign from active duty. Dennis is convinced that his uncle, who now runs the family pub, is not an insidious thug. Especially since there is no shortage of other suspects: Are foster parents Raimund and Thekla Fischer possibly behind the attack on René Klettner? Both have been taking care of the Klettners’ son Oskar since his conviction and now fear they will have to give him up again. Or did René Klettner have a fight with his old buddy Thomas Zühlke, with whom he was in a pub on the night of the crime? Tanja Wilken thinks everything is possible, but despite Dennis’ protestations of innocence, she does not let go of his uncle Daniel. Colleague Heinz Löwe fuels her skepticism.
Parallel to the investigation of the Klettner case, precinct commander Dorothea Danzeisen and her team are keeping an eye on a notorious art thief discovered by Doreen Danzeisen in the city. David Danzeisen and Diana Gruber immediately follow Johann Kronstein to find out if he is planning his next heist.
