SYNOPSIS
In an old tenement house at Christmas there is hustle and bustle, anger and loneliness. Hardly any of the residents of the old apartment building are looking forward to Christmas. Only one little girl does not let herself be deprived of her faith in the Christ Child and gives the house community an evening full of hope and love.
Miriam and her daughter Jule celebrate alone because Dad is away with his new mistress. Michael’s daughter Nina declares that she has “no desire” for Christmas. Old Mr. Eberling sits morosely at his wife’s grave, and ninety-year-old Rosa wishes to join her loved ones in the afterlife. In the first floor apartment, Nick and Isabell have the first quarrel of their young love, two staircases up, mother Waldtraud goes on strike at Christmas dinner, father Achim burns the goose, and their grown-up children stand bickering in the traffic jam.
Only little Jule still believes in the Christ Child and the magic of angels and glitter balls. And when the snow falls, she creates a miracle full of love and happiness.
