SYNOPSIS

Bella (Andrea Sawatzki) is in a dilemma: In her mid-forties, she lives in a shared apartment with her ex-husband Martin (Thomas Sarbacher) and her new boyfriend Sebastian (Tobias Oertel). What sounds complicated is even more complicated on closer inspection, because Bella neither dares to give Martin, who is currently going through a life crisis, notice to leave the apartment, nor can she bring herself to confess to him that Sebastian and she are now a couple. Bella has just decided to put an end to the secrecy and tell Martin the truth, when she receives bad news by phone: two very good mutual friends of Bella and Martin have died in an accident. They leave behind Tom, a two-year-old boy. In the event of their demise, the prudent parents had assigned custody to the godparents – Bella and Martin. Bella doesn’t hesitate for a second: Martin and she will take care of the boy and assume custody. But how is that supposed to work in the shared apartment? And what will become of Bella’s relationship with Sebastian?
